Montessori Aide & After-School Care— Ms. Josey Bunke

Ms. Josey was born and raised in Eureka, California, a small coastal town. She received her Associate’s degree from College of the Redwoods in 2009. In 2017, she moved to the Portland area with her sister and nephew. Ms. Josey has over 20 years of extensive child care experience.

She first came to ASA in 2018 as an aunt to her 5-year-old nephew and began volunteering in his classroom. Over the past six years, Ms. Josey has held multiple positions at ASA. Through this journey, she has developed a deep love for early childhood education and feels privileged to be part of the ASA community.

Ms. Josey and her husband, Joseph, have a full and lively home with four cats—Maximus, Marvin, Mavis, and Mildred—along with one dog, Mabel, and a king snake named Moana. She is also a gifted seamstress and has made her nephew’s Halloween costumes for the past 13 years. Her creativity and organizational skills are reflected both in her home life and in her work at ASA.
