Middle School I Teacher - Nicholas Lammerman
Nicholas joined the ASA faculty in the summer of 2025. He previously served as Dean of Humanities at Firm Foundations Academy, where he taught integrated Humanities for grades 5–8 and worked with colleagues to deepen their practice of classical pedagogy and the progymnasmata. Before that, he spent more than a decade in Hawaii serving students and teachers alike, becoming one of the state’s first licensed Literacy Specialists and helping to strengthen reading instruction across the upper elementary grades. Nicholas was received into the Orthodox Church on Holy Saturday of 2023 and now attends St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Portland. He treasures above all the “Pearl of Great Price” and seeks to serve each student as one made in the image and likeness of God. A lifelong learner, he delights in guiding students toward what is true, good, and beautiful.
