School Board Members — Dave & Jean Shaffer

Dave and Jean Shaffer joined the ASA Board together beginning January 2025. They relocated to Portland, Oregon from the midwest in 1994 and attended St. Nicholas Orthodox Church for about 25 years under Fr. George Gray. Both Dave and Jean graduated from Purdue University and recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.

While at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Dave served on the parish council and served as Elder for multiple terms. Jean served as church school director and was a member of the St. Elizabeth committee. Jean is a retired kindergarten teacher of 30 years. She had the opportunity to teach at Agia Sophia Academy near the end of her professional career.

Presently, Dave is the CEO and Co-Founder of Arc Health, PBC, based in Redmond, Oregon. He also has served as CEO for First Step Staffing, based in Atlanta, Georgia and as CEO for DPI Services (formerly DePaul Industries) in Portland, Oregon. Additionally, Dave served on the board of Miller Paint for multiple years. Dave and Jean are co-owners of a manufacturing company in Redmond, Oregon, along with their daughter and son in law. While in Redmond, they are parishioners at the newly formed Greek Orthodox Mission of Central Oregon.

Dave and Jean have 2 adult children and 1 grandchild. Both enjoy spending time and visiting their son and daughter in law in Vermont.
