Montessori Students Raise and Release Butterflies

We successfully accomplished our yearly tradition of hosting the beautiful Monarch butterflies! Like we mentioned before, we have been caring for our special guests since Pascha, watching and studying their life cycle since we received them in the egg stage.

We had ten caterpillars who transitioned to butterflies so we moved them to the netted habitat last week. They were happy, adjusted well, slept well, and played with friends just like our children.

We all gathered and selected fun names for each of them. Here they are:

• Hannah and Darla
• Pickle fly
• Mr Pickles
• Licks and Nicks
• Cheese and Toast
• Ms Padma (we did release this one as well, right now out with nature, in case you are looking for her)
• Black
• hatty
• Luck
• Hope
• Front flip and Bob!!

Our whole school was gathered outside and said our goodbyes.... Pics are posted on Facebook.

Hope you enjoyed reading it.

Hugs,
